Plant rentals · Pier 27, San Francisco

Plants for your Pier 27 event, built for the room.

The Preserve rents plants for galas, conferences, and brand activations at Pier 27 on the Embarcadero. It is a glass box on the water with a lot of hard surface and a lot of daylight — greenery is what softens it. We plan delivery around your load-in window, install to your floor plan, and strike on schedule.

What we take care of.

Pier 27 is a working waterfront building with real load-in constraints and a hard move-out. Our job is to fit inside them so the plants are simply there, looking right, when doors open.

No. 1

Delivery & install

We schedule against your confirmed load-in window on the Embarcadero side, move in through the freight access, and place every plant to your floor plan.

No. 2

On-site styling

We walk the room with you before doors and adjust anything that doesn't read right against that much glass and daylight.

No. 3

Pickup & teardown

We strike inside your move-out window, including same-night strikes when the building turns around for another event.

No. 4

Insured & papered

Fully insured, with Certificates of Insurance sent to the venue and your production company ahead of load-in, in the format they require.

The rooms

Spaces we green at Pier 27.

Two levels on the Embarcadero waterfront, with the Bay on one side and the city on the other. The rooms are generous and largely open, which makes plant placement a structural decision rather than a decorative one.

City ViewThe big upper-level room, roughly 23,000 square feet with the windows and the view. Statement trees at the entry, planters shaping the reception flow, and stage framing that reads on camera.
Embarcadero RoomThe lower-level hall, roughly 18,000 square feet. Works hard for expos, seated dinners, and general sessions — aisle anchors, registration greenery, and buffet or bar surrounds.
Bay ViewThe smaller room, around 3,000 square feet, for breakouts, VIP receptions, and green rooms. Scale matters here; a few well-chosen plants beat a lot of small ones.
Lobby & entryFirst-impression greenery where badges get scanned and step-and-repeats go up — the part of the building guests photograph.
Outdoor terrace & apronThe waterfront edge for cocktail hours and arrival moments. We spec material that holds up in Embarcadero wind rather than material that only looks good indoors.

A hard-edged building, softened properly.

Pier 27 gives you glass, steel, concrete, and a view. What it doesn't give you is warmth, and that's the whole job. We plan the plant scheme around where guests actually stand — the arrival, the bar lines, the photo wall, the stage edge — rather than scattering greenery evenly and hoping. Every order is planned by the same people who style it on the day.

Good to know

Pier 27 questions.

What planners and producers ask us about working events at the pier.

Do you deliver to Pier 27?

Yes. We deliver to Pier 27 for galas, conferences, launches, and activations across both levels, scheduled to your confirmed load-in window. Delivery is billed by scope, and we confirm the window against your production schedule before we quote.

Which rooms at Pier 27 do you work?

All of them — City View on the upper level, the Embarcadero Room below, Bay View for breakouts and VIP space, plus the lobby, entry, and the outdoor waterfront edge. One order can cover several rooms at once, which is usually cheaper than treating them separately.

Can you work the pier's load-in window and same-night strike?

Yes — that's the normal shape of a Pier 27 job. The building turns around quickly between events, so load-in windows are firm and strike is often the same night. Send your production schedule with your request and we'll plan delivery and teardown against the real times.

Can you provide a Certificate of Insurance for Pier 27?

Yes. We're fully insured and send COIs directly to the venue and your production company ahead of load-in, with whatever additional-insured language is required. Send us the requirements and we'll handle the paperwork.

What does plant rental cost for a Pier 27 event?

Pricing is per plant, and one rental price covers your event for up to three days. There's a $3,000 minimum per event, and delivery is billed separately based on your window and the size of the install. A single-room reception typically lands between $3,000 and $6,000; full-building galas and multi-room conferences run larger.

Will plants hold up on the outdoor terrace in Embarcadero wind?

If we spec for it, yes. Waterfront wind is the reason we choose different material outdoors than in — sturdier plants, heavier planters, and lower profiles where the gusts come through. Tell us which areas are outdoors and we'll plan for the exposure rather than discovering it on the day.

Will the plants last a multi-day event without watering?

Yes. We spec hardy material, water and groom everything before it leaves the shop, and one rental price covers up to three days. We don't staff on-site watering during events; for longer runs, ask about a mid-event refresh visit.

How far ahead should we book for Pier 27?

Four to six weeks is ideal, and the fall gala season books out earliest. If your date is sooner than that, ask anyway — we'll tell you straight away what's possible rather than leaving you waiting.

What if a plant gets damaged mid-event?

We swap it. We keep healthy backups in rotation at our shop and schedule replacements around your event hours.

How do deposits and payment work?

A 50% deposit up front so we can source the exact plants and planters your event needs, and the remaining 50% one week before the event. No deposit is taken before you've seen and approved the proposal.
